Can we use the button to (start an app and) start the recording of an app we are currently developing on our own for Android v5 and iOS9?

  The V.BTTN needs to be connected to the phone and communicating with an app via the BLE interface defined in the developer’s guide.  So, from this connected app, you could start other apps or perform any action you like within your app.

  If there no app is connected to the V.BTTN, then there’s no way for it to launch an app or perform any action.
